JEWELLERY CARE
Can my Jewellery get Wet?
YES! Our gold plated jewellery is waterproof and tarnish resistant! Our jewels are durable which means that you can wear them during showering, swimming and other everyday activities. However we do advise that you avoid contact with chemicals such as perfumes and strong cleaning solutions as these substances may damage the layer of gold and cause discolouration over time.
Where Should I Store my Jewellery?
Store your favorite gold plated pieces in your EAU VIVE Jewellery bag or Box to keep them safe and prevent scratching. See below for specific instructions on how to care for pearl jewellery.
How do I Clean my Jewellery?
If you would like to clean your jewellery use a gentle soft cloth to remove any dust & residues. If you would like to wash your jewellery use only a mild soap and water to cleanse it. Do not use any abrasive tools or harsh chemicals to clean your jewellery, and make sure it is dry before storing. Cleaning your pieces regularly will help to bring out their maximum shine.
Caring for Fresh Water Pearls
Our natural fresh water pearls are delicate and require appropriate care, whist the gold plating of your jewellery is very durable and water resistant, pearls need a little more attention and love to preserve their luster and iridescent shine. Pearls need to be stored in a soft pouch away from other jewellery (Your Eau Vive bag or box is perfect). Pearls need to avoid chemical exposure from cleaning products, perfumes and chlorine in pools. Whilst they can handle some water exposure, excessive amounts will damage them over time. Wearing your pearls regularly will help maintain their shine, as the natural oils from your skin will nourish there delicate outer layer. Follow these tips and your pearls will remain iridescent and stunning for a long time.
Adjusting Earrings Clasps
Gold is a soft, malleable metal that can easily bend. If you notice the earring posts of your hoops or huggies are slightly too tight or too loose, stop wearing them and try these simple steps to adjust them to your preferred fit.
Gently apply pressure to the earring post by pushing it either up or down, or right or left slightly to adjust it comfortably within the clasp. Even minor adjustments can make a big difference to the fit of the earring. Repeat this until you get the desired fit.
If you still are still encountering issues with your hoops or huggies AND they are within the warranty period, email us at: info@eauvivejewellery.com so we can assist you.
